"Giving Kids Direction to God's Love"

This is why children's Christian Education at Lehman Church exists. Classes are held each Sunday morning during the Contemporary Worship Service at 9:45. Children are welcome to come to Christian Education any week they are able.

The school year runs from the Sunday after Labor Day through Memorial Day weekend. Classes are offered for infants through adults.

You will find more specific details about the Christian Education program for various age groups by clicking on the links to the left.

INFANTS

NURSERY CARE is available on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:30.

We provide a loving environment for infants age 6 months through age 3 during the 9:45 hour. Our nursery offers Little Blessings curriculum during the 9:45 Christian Education hour giving children a chance to interact with God's love for everyone. During the 11:00 worship hour, there is also childcare available provided by salaried teachers to provide a sense of familiarity to our littlest ones.

PARENTS: Please be sure all contact and emergency forms are on file with our NURSERY DIRECTOR before you leave your child.

PRE-SCHOOL (TODDLERS 3 and 4)

In a room where songs are sung, finger plays acted out, crafts made, snacks enjoyed, games played and learning is fun, multiple teachers encourage these young ones to learn about the love of God. They employ curriculum to introduce these children to Bible stories during the 9:45 hour.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (K - 5th GRADE)

WORKSHOP ROTATION Christian Education is offered for ELEMENTARY AGE CHILDREN (K-5th)during the 9:45 Christian Education Hour.

This is a NEW WAY of doing Christian Education based on the different learning styles of children. The classes are "rotated" through "workshops" over the course of a six-week lesson to give kids a chance to thoroughly learn a Biblical concept before moving on to another lesson set. Learning Bible stories through computers, movies, art, drama, missions and games, children better comprehend the story and life applications.

Our current workshops are KEYS to the KINGDOM (computers), CREATION STATION (art), COVENANT THEATER (drama & music), SALVATION CINEMA (video), DISCIPLE MAKERS (faith practices) and GOOD NEWS ROOM (games).

These classes are offered downstairs and directional signs can be found at the bottom of the stairwell. Stop by the "NAME TAG BULLETIN BOARD" to see what workshop your class is in this week!

TEENS

MIDDLE SCHOOL Christian Education for 6th through 8th graders meet upstairs in the Youth Rooms each Sunday morning at 9:30am. This school year's focus is on lesser known characters in the Bible and the "Wild Truth" about them and how God worked in their lives.

7th graders are also encouraged to attend Confirmation Class with Rev. Monica Guepet-- for more details about the confirmation process, please call the church (215-675-2110) and ask for Monica.

SENIOR HIGH Christian Education 9th through 12th graders also meet upstairs in the Youth Rooms -- but at 11:00 instead of 9:30! This allows Senior High students to attend the Contemporary Worship service during the 9:30 hour and attend Christian Education afterward.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIPS are also an exciting part of Lehman Church. All 6th through 12th graders are invited to attend a relaxed and fun fellowship group on Sunday evenings at the church from 7:00 - 8:30pm. For more details and a currect schedule of events, click on the Youth Link on the main menu.

ADULTS

Adult classes meet during the 9:30 hour and there are three options to choose from:

PARENTING CLASS is a discussion-based class that meets in the Christian Education Office. This small group discusses family life issues and parenting concerns and encourages each other in their lives. Feel free to bring a cup of coffee from Fellowship Hall and join this group any Sunday your schedule allows.

UPPER ROOM BIBLE STUDY meets in the church library. This study is bases on the International Lesson Series and covers a broad variety of scripture lessons over the course of the year. It is a lecture-based study conducted by various members of the class.

SPECIAL TOPICS CLASSES: Over the course of the year, there are special teachers brought in to teach various topics in the Sanctuary. These topics and dates are printed in the Lehman Weekly, the Lamplighter and the Education Bulletin Board in the church narthex. A five-week study of the Prayer Life of Jesus taught by Rev. Tom Bare has just concluded.

ONE MORE OPTION: If none of these educational experiences appeals to you, you are welcome to participate in the Contemporary Worship Service held in Fellowship Hall during the Christian Education hour.

Various opportunities are available for adults through the year. Christian Education classes are held at 9:45 and 11 a.m. hours. Special Series are also available throughout the year on diverse topics. Bible Studies led by Senior Pastor, Rev. Haugh are on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. and on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
